about us

I’m Sophia, an American born Latina who grew up with one leg in Brazil and one leg in the United States. Having that dual identity has always been a gift for me, a gift that I never fully realized until I was older. I lived in Brazil for about 4 years, but it was only once when I was in 5th grade that I finally understood how much of an advantage I had over my classmates simply because I spoke English. Even at the time, it seemed unfair because some of them didn’t have the resources to learn English. I knew I needed to do something. With help, I created SAP, Support And Possibilities, to help raise and provide books and educational resources in underprivileged communities in Brazil. As someone with an advantage, I feel it is my responsibility and desire to help others without said advantage. My goal is to turn the advantage that I once had into the standard.
